VENEZUELAN HOLIDAYS

Without a doubt, the busiest time for Adícora is Easter Week (Semana Santa), with Carnival (the week before Lent) a close second. With the possible exception of Christmas/New Year's, these are the only times of year when you'll be hard-pressed to find a room or house to rent. Even then, you can probably stay at one of the windsurfing centers (whose businesses tends to rely more on foreigners than domestic vacationers), but it is still a good idea to book ahead.

Adícora slowly fills up during August and into September, which is the traditional Venezuelan summer vacation period, but not like in the intense, mad rush of Easter Week. Weekends occasion a small influx of visitors into town, especially if a national holiday is making for a long weekend (of which there are quite a few throughout the year).
