ARCHIE'S PLACE (NUEVO CASTILLO AN DER DONAU)

This guest house is named after a river in Archie's native Germany and is located on the South Beach just by Carlos' Windsurfing. From the street side, a distinctive mural of castle and countryside can be seen painted on the exterior. Very nicely kept and furnished with single and double rooms, some with private bath. He speaks Spanish, German, and a little English. In the US$15.00 - US$20.00 range. Stop by if interested.

CARANTONIA
Carantonia is located diagonally across the street from Cerveceria Guatacarazo. The facility is a beautiful colonial-era building with rooms facing a pleasant inner courtyard. Rooms are simple, but comfortable, and cost approximately US$15.00 - $20.00 per night. It is owned and operated by Alvaro Nelson, who is of mixed Venezuelan and American heritage and speaks perfect English. As with many places in town, the rooms aren't screened, so you might want to consider bringing a mosquito net for sleeping. Tel. (58)(069) 88-173.

POSADA KITZBERGER
"Posada" means small inn, and usually includes food as well as rooms. Kitzberger, no exception, offering rooms and an integrated restaurant, is definitely one of the nicest places to stay in town. All rooms are fully-screened and adjoin a beautiful indoor garden and courtyard; some have private entrances to the boulevard. Beds are big and comfortable. The general service and upkeep is excellent. Some of the rooms have a private bath. One room off the boardwalk sports a small kitchen. Coupled with an adjacent large room with a double bed, it's nice for a small group of up to six. Madame Kitzberger speaks German and Spanish, but no English. ANNEX DE POSADA KITZBERGER
Newly added to the Kitzberger empire is a four bedroom house located only two houses east of the Posada. The rooms are rented individually and private baths are currently in construction. The house has a kitchen available to guests; maid service cleans up after you. The rooms are rented individually for roughly US$16.00 - $24.00. The upstairs room and balcony has a beautiful view of the bay. The back yard is large, accessible and can be used for gear storage. The whole house may be rented if available. Tel./Fax. JOSÉ'S PLACE
José is a Venezuelan gentleman who lives about a block west of the clinic on Calle Santa Ana. Behind his well-kept home is a guest cottage with inexpensive rooms. José and his family speak only Spanish. Tel. (58)(069)88.045
